Message	for daily driver, a smaller width tire is better. it holds truer in a straight line and is easier to turn at low speeds. for high speeds and performance driving, you are correct. other then looks, there is nothing wrong with a 'narrow' tire for a daily driven car. a narrower tire is safer.
